The First Post

When was the last time I wrote a diary? I think that was in primary school. I still remember the book: slightly smaller than A4 with floral patterns, complete with perfumed pages that were so fashionable back then. Unfortunately it was not exactly the best choice for secure confidential diary-keeping because it was without a lock. I still remember how I nursed a grudge towards Erjie for peeping into it. I was sure of that even though I've never really caught her red-handed, ahaha. The realisation that my thoughts are not secure on pages prematurely derooted the nascent habit that I was trying to cultivate- or did it? Maybe I was just lazy to keep a journal.

I set up this blog, with part credits to Gwen! Her gwenintaipei kept me on the high on what's happening during her exchange in Taipei. At first, inertia kept me back from maintaining a blog because I didn't even have time to write my tutorial answers, I thought. But it's quite refreshing to know what your family/friends are doing miles away on a daily basis and I bet my family and friends would feel the same. Looks like having a blog is the best way to document my life away from home. 4.5 months. Not really long but quite a substantial period of time for someone like me who hasn't been away from home for more than 1 week.

Keeping a diary would also help me to practise my writing perhaps, but of course not in the best style. I think it would also help me kill time in the numerous dark nights that I would spend most probably alone in my hostel room. It's like another way to talk and express.

So on the whole, I'm happy that I started this blog. Friends (who can be bothered, haha) stay tuned.
