The Barking Frog

Barking Frog
Just got back from the Barking Frog, a club downtown. Rashmi had asked me to go earlier and I thought that since it'd be probably the only time that I would meet her in person, I'll go even though I don't really like clubs. Apparently people don't show up on time in clubs too. The 'bash' was supposed to start at 10 but I got a shock when I reached at 10.20pm and found the bar/club virtually empty except for some people dining. I then went for a walk-realised The Keg, Dmetre's and TJ's are actually just a stone's throw away. But the streets are so deserted it felt quite pathetic. The cabdriver told me that tonight is quiet because everyone partied very hard last night on St Patrick's day. Well...But I still think Canada is such a thinly populated and quiet place. Sometimes I almost feel sorry for the shops and businesses that seem to struggle to run on economy of scale.
Rashmi is quite a different person from what I imagine her to be-a lot more body language and twist to her personality. I can't believe she is leaving for Singapore again in a few hours.
The 'bash' wasn't as exciting as it sounded in the email though, but anyway it was good that I managed to meet and know more about Melissa, who is in my IPIP class. Melissa is such a nice lady- genuine and kind. I was being upfront when I told her I could not understand why she chose to do an independent research paper with MAW. And she said wistfully, "I know"...haha.

St Patrick's Day
We celebrated St Patrick's Day for Orla on Sunday by springing a surprise on her. It was a nice cosy pizza party with some semblance of the St patty spirit here and there, mostly due to the green. Btw honestly I've never heard of this festival before I came. I wish that there is a big parade here that I could watch.
This reminds me that Orla will be in NY until Sunday...so it'll be home alone for the next few days :)

CLS
More work from CLS! I have to do fee waiver for Mr L, apply for a garnishment hearing, write memos and letters for two files. And I just received one more file today! I have to check out the small claims court rules for Mr L's case...ar, so many things that I'm not familiar with!
*cool down. It'll be fine. It's late now and I just need a rest and wake up refreshed to put everything in place tomorrow.
